Abstract

The results of the studies of different chemical ele-ments (including heavy metals and sulfur) content in the thalluses of fruticose epiphytic lichen Bryoria cap- illaris collected at different distances from northwestern solfataric field of Mendeleev Volcano (Ku- nashir Island) are presented. In the result of regression analysis, the statistically significant inversed exponential relationship is shown between the content of S, Fe, Al, Cu, Pb & Cr and the distance from the most active solfatara is shown in the research. The ranks of heavy metals accumulation by the gross concentration — S > Fe > Al > Cu > Pb > Ni > Cr are determined. Maximal excess of elements content in the impact zone in comparison with control values is regis-tered for S (in 2—5 times), Fe (in 2,3 times) and Al (in 2—3,5 times).
