Abstract

The article discusses the results of the comprehensive geo-ecological evaluation of the situation on the Kerch Peninsula in shortage of the surface water sources. The assessment of the ecological situation is an indi- cator-riskological approach: i.e. the ecological situation is determined by the level of a hydro-geoecological risk. The main environmental conditions that shape the situation in the region were identified: the water quality of the groundwater sources, the water supply from the underground water withdrawal, the level of an anthropogenic impact and population density. The development of the ecological situation on the Kerch Peninsula was modeled by two scenarios: “Surface and ground water” and “Lack of surface water”. At the final stage, ranking the Kerch Peninsula in terms of severity symptoms of the ecological situation was carried out and the measures for the operational management of environmental security in the region were proposed.

Keywords

an ecological situation, underground water, the Kerch Peninsula, a hydro-geoecological risk, ranking, a uniform indicator.
