Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of the features of settling and development of the Small bend of the Don River in the case study of the basin of the Bol'shaya Golubaya River. The authors identified the trends in the settlement and development of the study area based on the analysis and processing of collected data. The researchers reviewed the settling system prevailing at different periods of time and identified the causes for changes in population, number of rural settlements and their size. Modern features of population distribution are also discussed in the article.
