Abstract

The features of the current distribution of the zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) in the northeastern part of the area in the mouth of the Northern Dvina River are described in the paper. Based on the studies by different authors, it is found that the Severodvinsk population of this mollusk is independent and self-perpetuating. Our studies were carried out in 2010 and 2014, and the upper part of the Delta and lower part of the mouth area were involved. The environmental groups of mussels in the delta of the Northern Dvina River are adapted to a short stay in salt water. In general, at that moment scarce finds of the mollusk in the Northern Dvina River can be explained by the adverse effects of abiotic factors (soil, mineral-ization, salinity).
