Abstract

The analysis of the dynamics of the alluvial areas in the waters of the Voronezh Reservoir for the 40 years of its operation is presented. The uniqueness of the Voronezh Reservoir is determined by its location in a city. The study of the occurrence and dynamics of the area of alluvial territories was made by analyzing satellite data. The trend of rise process is registered, that is fixed increment of mining area from 38 to 202 hectares. The schemes of alluvial areas are submitted for 1975—2016. It was revealed, that the conversion of the bank and the bottom of the reservoir was carried out cyclically. The result was the offset of the coastline, water protection zones and coastal protective strips that change the border of the water body. The positive investigation process is that the increase in the depth had a beneficial impact on the ecosystem as a whole. The adverse effects are as follows: stagnant water before artificial barriers, emissions of pollutants into the water from the process of work on dredging. The need in ecological environmental assessment of sediments at the sites of bottom deepening is indicated.
