Abstract

The quick secondary Lessing feather-grass steppe self-restoration has become the landscape phenomenon of the territory that underwent the Virgin Lands Campaign in the Trans-Ural eco-region while the Cis-Ural Orenburg Region becomes the main refugium for those self-restored steppes. As ecological substantiation for conservation these steppe plots, they are considered as cores for the steppe ecological framework. For the first time the systemizing of these cores has been carried out by their inner structure and margin dynamics. The cores of various sorts are found in the Cis-Ural Orenburg Region and the Trans-Ural Orenburg Region, the steppe ecological corridors are substantiated as an alternative for protective forest belts. The theoretical approaches to the ecological framework steppe element integrated assessment are developed considering the plot’s state proximity to the secondary steppe, its ecosystem services, agro-ecological and conserva- tional worth, territory parameters, transformation degree and aesthetic properties. The use without ploughing up, first of all, as a territorial basis for the hoofed steppe animals farming, is proposed as a recommendation for the elements of the steppe ecological framework.
