Abstract

The data on the presence of the pollutants in the surface waters in the area affected by the mining enterprise of the JSC “SSGPO”, the Kostanay Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are given. The surface water samples at pH, dry residue, suspended solids content, calcium, magnesium, sulfates, chlorides, phosphates, hydrogen carbonates, nitrates, nitrites, ammonium nitrogen, common iron, petroleum products, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt, manganese and boron are analyzed. The results show that the dry residue content of manganese, sulfate, chloride, nitrate, nitrite, nickel, ammonium nitrogen is above the maximum permissible values.

The analysis of the pollutants’ dynamics shows that the zone of technogenic pollution is formed in the area of the impact of the JSC “SSGPO”, and it is necessary to develop a number of measures aimed at reducing the negative impact on the environment and preventing the migration of pollutants to the areas adjacent to the industrial site.
