Abstract

The article presents an overview of the main stages of the demographic policy in the country in the study of a separately taken region of Russia, i.e. the Yaroslavl Region. It examines the demographic situation in the second half of the 20th — early 21st centuries through the prism of the demographic reform in the Yaroslavl Region. The main guidelines of the demographic policy and the measures of social support for the population are considered. The intraregional differences in the development of the demographic situation of the territory of the Yaroslavl Region are identified. The new trends for the stimulation of birth rate and improvement of the quality of life of the population are recommended.
