Abstract

The article examines methodological approaches to the organization of the space of the forest-steppe botanical garden. It is recommended to use the system analysis of the territories, landscape-ecological principles and socio-economic component to provide opportunities to preserve and restore various levels of ecosystem biodiversity, to create environmentally safe environment, and increase the demand for a garden as a social and cultural object. As the main methodological means of studying the external environment of the botanical garden, the following are considered: the analysis of the balance of borders by contact zones; me analysis of the surrounding buildings and infrastructure; the detailed analysis of the routes for pedestrians and the transport routes. The creation of an ecologically sustainable and adaptivee system for managing the botanical garden space is the key task for the sustainable development of plant introduction centers. To prepare a long-term plan for organizing the space of the Botanical Garden, it is recommended to introduce an ecological and landscape approach that will reduce the risks of degradation of natural ecosystems an a loss of the collection funds with maximum economic efficiency of its territory’s management.
