Abstract

One of the main changes in the new revision of the ISO 14001 “Environmental Management Systems. Requirements and application manual” (GOST R ISO 14001—2016), is a requirement to identify the risks that must be taken into account in the functioning of the environmental management system, to ensure that the system produces the desired results and that the probability of undesirable effects is eliminated or minimized. The procedure has been developed to identify the risks, to make the assessment and to perform further influence on the risks in order to minimize their consejuences according to the requirements of the ISO 14001 2015 GOST R ISO 14001—2016), the ISO 31000 risk management standards.

In the study of the Novovoronezh NPP, the risk assessment was carried out with a combined method (the 'brainstorming' method and the method of the analysis of the types and consequences of potential defects). The calculations were made for the priority number of risk to determine the level of risk and taking further activities to manage these risks (i.e., avoiding the risk, changing the consequences of the risk, eliminating its causes, etc.).
