Abstract

The characteristic of the surface water of one of the most remote Polar areas of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YNAA) is presented in the article.

It is revealed that the Yamal Area takes the last place, both among the subjects of the Ural Federal District, and the municipal areas of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug on the volume of the sewage per a resident including the polluted water and the sewage which are dumped without cleaning.

It is shown that the conducted research is not enough for the identification of the level of the surface water pollution, and the tendencies of their change. Longer time periods for observations are needed.

The main activities on the protection and prevention of the negative impact on the water objects of the Yamal Area are considered.

Keywords

Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, anthropogenic impact, surface water objects on the Yamal Peninsula, ecological conditions of water objects.
