Abstract

The article substantiates the concept of sustainable (balanced) nature management in the development of the steppe oil and gas fields, taking into account the experience of the known and newly proposed methods and approaches to the optimization of various types of economic activities. The concept is based on the principles of preserving the ecological-subsoil balance. Its notion is formulated, the system of the measures aimed at the realization of the concept is offered. To maintain this balance, an adaptive landscape approach to the placement of oil and gas facilities in the Volga-Ural steppe zone is proposed.

Keywords

the landscapes of the steppe zone, oil and gas production, the concept of a balanced use of subsoil, environmental-subsoil use balance, the adaptive- landscape approach.
