Abstract |
The problem of the peninsulas boundaries delimitation in the conditions of the north of Western Siberia is considered on the basis of the approaches of complex geographical regionalization. It is shown that in those cases when the boundary of the peninsula is hampered by the complex structure of the mouth areas of the bays formed by large rivers, the only reliable algorithm for solving the problem is the preliminary fixation of two groups of boundaries, the first of which is associated with the identification of the internal structure of the components of the geographical sphere in the transition zone from the peninsula to the mainland. The boundaries of various geographical environments (climatic, geological), as well as the boundaries of various landscape components (lithogenic base, soils and soil-forming rocks, biota) can be referred to the first group. The second group includes the ecosystems' own boundaries, namely the borders of the landscapes and the boundaries of the watersheds. The modern methods of geoinformation modeling are used to identify and fix both types of boundaries, and, first ofall, the methods of modeling landscape sites and elementary watersheds of various stream orders. The implementation of this approach allows us to limit the peninsula as a ecosystem with a similar landscape structure, organized by the flows of matter and energy, which at the same time are complex physical geographic regions and, importantly, unified regions of nature management. |
