Abstract

Based on the official statistical data for 2000-2017, the dynamics of the frequency of polydactylity, limbs reduction defects and multiple congenital malformations in the newborns of the Bryansk Region in the territories with different levels of radioactive, chemical and combined contamination of the environment was assessed. The results of the study reveal statistically significant differences in the incidence of multiple congenital malformations in the conditions of combined contamination of the environment in comparison with similar indicators in the areas of radioactive and chemical contamination, which may indicate a synergistic effect of radiation and chemical factors. The results of the study have not revealed significant differences in the dynamics of the frequency of polydactylity and limbs reduction defects in the newborns in the areas of radiation, chemical and combined (radiation and chemical) pollution.
