Abstract

The article presents the data on the locations of the mammoth fauna of the middle reaches of the Kolyma River basin. Since 2013 8 promising locations of mammoth fauna from the Berezovka River (the Srednekolymsky Region) upstream of the Kolyma River to the border with the Magadan District have been identified and examined. The stationary field research is conducted on the Irelyakh-Siene River. There the bone remains help the most fully trace the evolutionary line Mammuthus intermedius – Mammuthus pimigenius fraasi – Mammuthus primigenius primigenius. The species composition of the fossil fauna in the region is selected due to osteological material analysis.
