Abstract

The article provides a review of the literature on the content of heavy metals in the soil and vegetation cover of Yakutia, as well as in the organs and tissues of animals in chronological order, starting with the 1950s. In the1950s—1970s the most publications were devoted to the content of heavy metals in feed grasses. Since the 1980s there have been works related to environmental pollution resulting from the development of mineral resources. Itis shown that heavy metals cause a change in the chemical composition of all components of the natural environment, violate the stability and productivityof the ecosystems of the cryolithozone and affect the health of the population living in areas with high anthropogenic stress.

Keywords

Yakutia, soil, heavy metals, cryolithozone, forage grasses, microelements, environment, trophic chain.
