Abstract

The article presents a critical review of practice of allocation areas of activity of regional municipal solid waste operator management during territorial waste management schemes development for Russian Federation subjects. The review is presented from the conceptual positions prevailing in modern social geography: complex formation, territorial organization of society, regional capital, perspectivity, efficiency, safety and sustainability of regional development. Assessment of approaches to the allocation areas of activity of regional operators found the developers of territorial schemes takes into account various factors during zoning of the territory, in some cases, the rationale for the allocation of zones is not given at all. In the considered territorial schemes it is allocated from one to twelve zones of activity of regional operators, some schemes assume variability of zoning of the territory of the region.
