Abstract

Human ecology is regarded as the science of the relationship of a person with complex multi-component environment. Specialists in this field are in need of fundamental and applied knowledge based on a systemic approach to the phenomena of nature and man and creating interdisciplinary links between the fragmented disciplines of the natural and social sciences. The article discusses long experience of teaching the course of Human Ecology at the Department of Geography of Moscow State University and its affiliates, the forms of conducting seminars, including simulation games, interactive communication, creative workshops, thematic conferences. The training course is based on basic geographic approaches and application of information technology. Individual and group work, motivation to action, the need of students to take specific solutions provide effective learning and high competence.
