Abstract

On the basis of the years of research, this study presents the dynamics of hydro-chemical regime in the upper part of the Boguchany Reservoir at the reservoir filling period (2013—2015). The study shows that good hydrodynamic condition of water in the Angara River before the completion of the Boguchany hydropower station and during the first year of the reservoir filling cause similar concentrations of most biogenic elements and oxygen mode. As the water level grew, and the new environment of natural-technogenic reservoir gradually took shape, some changes occurred in the proportion of mineral nitrogen compounds and in the concentrations of oxygen, phosphorous and silica. Vertical stratification of biogenic and organic matter has been observed during the reservoir filling period. The results of the study helped to detect the reservoir's barrier zone where changes of hydro-chemical composition that occur during the transition from the river to the reservoir environment can be observed most clearly.
