Abstract

Anthropogenic objects related to oil and gas production are the main destabilizing factor for the ecological development of the landscapes within Obshchy Syrt. The current geo-ecological state of 30 developed deposits was studied. A degradation degree of the steppe ecosystems was determined on the basis of the designed coverage, proportion of synanthropic species and results of soil testing analysis to detect oil products and chlorides content. Landscape ordination on types of the terrains was conducted for the sites of land recultivation disturbed by oil and gas production. The comparative assessment for the effectiveness of complex recultivation within key plots was given. It is concluded that, the conducted biorecultivation works did not provide for forming stable and productive biocoenoses. To conclude, the applied recultivation methods are the most effective on a flat interfluve type of the land due to uniform distribution of contaminants in soil and ground.
