Abstract

Productivity and current environmental state of domestic reindeer pastures within the four fields of the Tyumen North, located in tundra and northern taiga zones are discusses. In comparative terms the structure of lands suitable for pastures is shown, the value of summer and winter pastures are determined, information about standards of a pasture grazing is provided, a forecast recovery of lichen and green forages are estimated. The major anthropogenic factors affecting the decrease of rangelands quality mechanical disturbance of soil and vegetation cover, noise and pyrogenic effects, overgrazing, etc. are analyzed. The decreasing quality indexes of pastures entering the industrial zones of gas-oil fields are calculated. The most pressing environmental problems in Yamalo-Nenets reindeer are highlighted: the excess of the real number of reindeer, the growth areas of disturbed and overgrazed pastures. Environmental requirements to field infrastructure in the zones of reindeer herding and measures on pasture optimization on the background of intensive industrial development are listed.
