Abstract |
The article describes the results of a research on the environmental impact of individual country sites of the Vladimir households in terms of ecological footprint (EF). The survey has been conducted among 62 households and it served as a source of data on the resources consumption by the members of the households. Ecological Footprints of the households have been calculated with the help of the software “Ecological Footprint Calculator”. A comparative ecological footprint analysis of two types of households has been made, with and without the country houses. It was revealed that the ecological footprint of the country houses owners was 23 % higher. It is shown that an in-crease in the environmental load is caused mainly by the higher consumption of energy, construction wood and more intensive use of transport by the country houses owners. The increased burden on the ecosystem is manifested in the carbon footprint growth and additional demand for wood. |
