Abstract

The paper concerns the concept (method) of the vector layers of landscape zoning and the study of the hierarchical structure and internal geographic taxa based on the application of the methodology of joint analysis of inter-component and inter-landscape relations, taking into account the continental margin dichotomy, landscape forming orographic, climatic and vegetation factors, as well as the GIS techniques and landscape mapping in the study of PrimorskyKrai. The developed method is applied for making the vector-layered landscape map of South Pacific Russia, the Muravyov-Amur District and Russkiy Island. We suggest that it should be a basis and be applied as a “platform’ in planning and implementation of the projects based on the activities of the Pacific International Landscape Center, organized by Far Eastern Federal University, and be taught to their graduate students studying landscape planning.
