Abstract

One of the means to stabilize the ecological situation of the city and reduce the negative impact of environmental factors, are green plantations. In addition, they are an important element of the urban landscape, improving its aesthetic perception. The restoration and development of the green planting system is the most promising direction in improvement of urban environmental health. Landscaped parks convey the natural environment. The role of parks is now growing even more in connection with the need to protect environmental conditions in cities.

The purpose of the article: To carry out complex studies of soil and vegetation cover in key areas of the landscape park “Yuzhny”. In the process of research, a number of issues were resolved: stock materials on the “Yuzhny” Park were considered and a historical background was prepared; at key sites full-profile soil sections are laid; a continuous taxation of tree plantations in key areas was completed and taxation lists were filled; taxonomic, geo-graphical, ecological and ecobiomorphological analyzes of flora were carried out; a comparative analysis of the dendroflora of the key sections of the “Yuzhny” Park and “Max-Ashman-Park” was carried out; Recommendations for optimizing the age and spatial structure of park ecosystems are developed.
