Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the assessment of the sus-tainability and status of conifers in the case study of Siberian pine (Pinussibirica Du Tour), in different environmental conditions. The article gives the data of the content of main photosynthetic pigments in the pine needles of the urban forest zone as compared to coniferous plants growing on weakly disturbed (background) areas. The reliable differences were identified (1.4—2.0 times) by the level of pigment content for the needles of all ages of the investigated species of plants in the conditions of the urban environment as compared to the control plot (“TundrinskijBor”). It was found that in the structure of the pigment complex in the pine needles of the Siberian pine (Pinussibirica Du Tour) of the urban forest-park zone the ratio of the main and auxiliary forms of chloro-phyll changes. It can serve as ecological and physiological adaptation and bio-indicative features of the Siberian pine to the impact of various damaging factors and high gas resistance to the polluted air.
