Abstract

The article is devoted to the development of the methodology of economic assessment of the natural re-source potential of the regions in terms of determining the value of ecosystem services of the forest and the possible damage from their loss.

A detailed list of forest ecosystem services is consid-ered. Calculations of the cost of individual ecosystem ser-vices of the forest are carried out. The calculations are car-ried out using official data on the natural indicators con-tained in the documents of official statistics, including the state of the forest Fund of the Kaluga Region, current (for 2018) market prices for raw materials, regulatory fees for the emissions of the pollutants, etc.

It is shown that in this case study the cost of wood ob¬tained from one hectare of forest is a third of the total price of ecosystem services of the forest.

According to the authors, the most adequate and prac¬tical model for calculating the total possible damage from the loss of ecosystem services of the forest is proposed. The model is based on the damage from the loss of the most popular, involved in the market turnover, economically de¬veloped and most confidently calculated services — the provision of wood.
