Abstract | The task of organizing the recreational activities in the protected area of the steppe zone is complicated by the lack of methods or adapted methodological approaches for calculating the norms of recreational loads on the zonal steppe landscapes, which is especially important given their low resistance to recreational impact. This problem is certainly relevant for the Volgograd Region, which is characterized by high landscape diversity within the boundaries of the steppe zone, significant recreational potential with intensive economic development and relatively small environmental areas. Among themain tasks of natural parks, as the main form of territorial nature protection in the region, it is not only the protection of natural steppe geosystems, but also the organizationof ecological and tourist activities, the norms of permissible loads from which have not been established yet. On the basis of the universal methods of calculation of admissible recreational loadings, the authors propose a 2-stage methodological approach, adapted to the conditionsof the natural parks of the steppe zone of the Volgograd Region, which is based on a consideration of the major natural, environmental, and socio-economic factors in the organization of recreation, as well as the results of regular monitoring of landscapes, experiencing recreational impact. The approach proved by authors allows them to normalize recreational loading, to estimate the degree of the use of recreational potential and to make administrative decisions on optimization of recreational infrastructure of the protected territories. This methodical approach is relatively easy to apply and it is focused on the use of the Park directorates. |
